Where Poland Meets Japan

A poem by Stephen Pratt

Market town show your face
Tell me of your plan
Tell me of this special place
Where Poland meets Japan.

A business trip, a holiday
A welcome at a door
Somewhere to rest from work and play
Somewhere to explore.

Tall, tall trees
A garden with magic features
People talking Japanese
To the hiding creatures.

Poppies looking over you
Whispering go to bed
As new stars come into view
And put dreams in your head.

Sunrise outside your window
Wake up my friend and smile
A table is waiting to say hello
In a little while.

Oh distant, distant cast
Get ready for a feast
Get ready for a breakfast
That followed you from the East.

Just days in sunset and sunrise
Just the sun and moon
And a host, a host of goodbyes
Hoping you come back soon.

Market town show your face
Tell me of your plan
Tell me of this special place
Where Poland meets Japan.
